《A Mix of Irvine’s Nature

This work was made in Irvine, California.

I arrived here and observed the surrounding trees, plants, sand, rocks, mountains, and all other natural elements.

This work is the result of mixing together the natural scenes I observed.

《The Tragedy of Firewood》

This work was made in Posio, Finland, and it was fired using a pit fire.

I’ve heard that if you’re not careful when adding firewood, the work can be damaged by the wood being thrown like arrows.

This process also reminds me of the Korean game ‘Kettle Toss,’ where wood is thrown into a hole, giving a sense of ‘Oh, I hit it…’

《The kiss?

This work was made in Posio, Finland, and it was fired using a gas fire.

The concept emulates Klimt’s “The Kiss,” but while Klimt’s work expresses love, my piece reflects ongoing confusion about love despite seeing it. The kiss? What does love means?

《An umbrella for this day》

In our daily lives, our bodies are like an umbrella, shielding us from various harms, whether they come from others’ words and actions or from societal patterns, noise, and judgments.
The protagonist in the book is actually a shoe tester, who needs to pay close attention and feel the comfort of the soles.
Therefore, the choice to depict the character barefoot rather than wearing shoes serves a dual purpose: it symbolizes the arduous nature of life’s journey and offers a perspective from an observer to reflect the protagonist’s personal experiences.

《Eyes brimming with tears

This artwork features two water droplets representing tears. From above, the bases look like eyes, a nose, and eyebrows, combining with the droplets to evoke the feeling of tears welling up.

It also captures the ripples formed when the droplets fall, inspired by an online art exhibition where droplets create natural ripples in a basin. That simple moment was filled with quiet yet intense power—a silent contrast.
